Large caseloads will prevent any lawyer from adequately preparing your case.
Outside of trial, the only way a criminal defense case is won is through motions and hearings before the court. I subpoena all police and prosecution records, not just the edited materials that the D.A. and the police routinely provide lawyers. A vast number of criminal defense lawyers are so over-burdened with large, unwieldily caseloads, that they never have the time to dig down and obtain that exculpatory evidence which is in the possession of the D.A. and which the D.A. has never provided to them.
